*People watching is such an under-rated past time. I've decided to sketch a snippet of a random piece of imagery a couple times a week, and share that brief moment with you. Please check in weekly to help make these moments come alive*
Location: La Marin (a crazy bus station), sitting on the curb next to the Ecovia (the red bus trolley)
A man, early 40s: tight yellow Pilsener (Ecuadorian beer) t-shirt that accentuates the potbelly, white/orange racy stripped sweat pants, fake leather brown shoes, dark blue baseball cap. Not very attractive.
A boy, 12-13 years: faded jeans, white t-shirt, pants slipping off, flyer down. Not wearing his khaki suspenders or backpack.
Man catapults boy out from behind his food stand. Throws the boy's khaki suspenders and backpack after him. Boy cries, slowly gathers his suspenders and backpack, fumbles with his fly before zipping it up, slowly folds his suspenders, walks away, passes me to my left, crying.
Music playing in my shuffle: "Big Yellow Taxi" --Counting Crows
2 orange-flavored tic-tacs, one in each cheek, melting in my mouth. I always chew them before they melt all the way. Impatient.
